Ross has an abundance of records, so when inexplicable crap such as this is presented, a lively debate amongst Ross supporters is that bad records can be produced for any artist who has recorded as many records as Ross has. Not necessarily; Streisand, Warwick, and Aretha have some misfires but not of the abundance of Ross nor have they sunk to the artistic depths that Ross has. If nothing else, Ross' final Motown album displays that Ross has completely lost any music range, quite scary since she had a one note range to begin with. Ross whispers and croaks her way through urban contemporary beats on this album. An embarrassment resulting in Motown promptly dropping the Queen of Motown from the roster. Hip hop meets sequins anyone? I really had no idea that Diana Ross had made so many bad records towards the end of her recording career. I had stop listening and the stations stopped playing her somewhere around the early 80s. This record is over 19 years old. Miss Ross has since won a Grammy, the Presidential Freedom Award, The Kennedy Centers Honors, and the BET Lifetime Achievement Award.

Neither Diana or Mary were blameless that night despite certain people on here claiming otherwise. I have recently spoken to a close friend of Cindy and this person had Cindy's first hand account. I could blow this thing wide open if i chose to but i shall retain my dignity for now, but if certain people persist in pressing buttons i may change my mind, and that could shatter some peoples illusions once and for all. Let us leave it that and all move forward please. O.K. gang, this is the new deal. If you persist in pressing buttons - Bluerock with blow this thing wide open and will shatter some peoples illusions once and for all. Hector take heed this is for you. Are we clear now ? LOLOLOLOLOl they can't let anything go or move on. They pack grudges about things that may or may not happened within the Supremes from 30 and 40 and 45 years ago.

No label would sign Diane after Motown dropped her. Diane really wanted to keep recording new music. EMI signed her for a one album deal and have no interest whatsoever in her recording another album. I Love You is her final album and is a fitting coda for the diva. A cheap sounding album that sounds like Karaoke night at Niecy's Champagne Bar and Grill, it is typical of the mediocre product churned out by Miss Ross when she is calling the shots. Robert/Roberta I have followed your posts at Soulful Detroit and I find you to be pretentious ninny. And Leave God out of your bullshit Sir!

Unfortunately that's the biz; it's no statement against Diana Ross, one of the most beloved and successful singers ever. As to Clive, who knows. He makes some asinine decisions. He can sell records but most for the past 10 years are crappy jukebox albums. Davis has not yet released 'dead people singing virtual duets with other dead people of other dead peoples' songs with choral backgrounds by the Morman Tabernacle Choir' but give him time!

Bravo Mary Wilson indeed! Mary showed unimaginable restraint that night. She also showed that she has brains to go along with her World-class beauty! Ok she could have just ripped Diane apart right there on stage, but instead she ripped her up the right way by writing her book! Diana "The Scarecrow" Ross was banned from the after party and made to take herself and her awkward looking daughters home! I still believe that we don't know all the facts leading up Mary's opportunity to deck the crazy lady. I have a feeling the Ross had no interest in a reunion anyway. Was she really sick? Her performance was terrible. Marv is always trying to elevate Mary to sainthood. Truth is Berry and Mary have had a love/hate relationship from the start. He nearly fired her in her first year for wrecking his car. He told her early on that she couldn't sing. Her role was merely pretty scenery behind the woman he loved, Diana Ross. After Ross left, Gordy kept Mary's Supremes going for a couple years so as not to have a negative impact on Ross's solo career. After 1973 he was through with her. She constantly badmouthed Gordy to the press in the 70s, by Mary's own admission he gave her a solo contract only to get her to drop her lawsuits and by 1990 had starved Mary into turning over her portion of ownership of the name Supremes to him. Gordy has had little to do with Mary over the years since. Confidante? Hardly

Hip hop meets sequins anyone? Love You', it's a decent LP that I listen to every now and again, and to bring some clarity to the discussion of the LP it's worth noting that it sold (according to SoundScan) about 235,000 copies worldwide which certainly far exceeds anything Diana's M'town peers for the same decade excepting Stevie Wonder.

Now you see how liars on these here forums work? They blurt out a bunch of diarrhea and bullshit and expect people to not check them! Well.........Roberta/Jonc, you've been caught again! Mary Wilson has been a Berry Gordy confidante since 1960! He was never going to ever fire Mary Wilson. You read the book, the fact that Mary was so loyal to her girls, her group that she would cover for them endeared her to Mr. Gordy tremendously! Berry was no fool. He knew Wilson was not only talented, but she possessed a World Class beauty that Motown exploited to promote the Supremes. That is why they came up with the tag "The Sexy One". The Supremes were being marketed to men as much as the general public and Mary was the attraction for men! He also knew of the rivalry between Ross and Wilson and knew that Mary would be the catalyst to force Ross into working harder and doing her best. Ross has admitted that herself in several interviews that you evidently did not read or conveniently forgot! Mr. Gordy was not finished with Mary Wilson after 1973 you dumb asshole, then why did he resign her and the Supremes in 1975. You dirty liar. In 1990 Berry Gordy settled with Mary Wilson.....AGAIN for an undisclosed amount for Mary's share of the ownership in the Supremes name. Remember he had sold Motown in 1988 you fucking jerk! I had heard that he gave Mary a hefty amount of money for her share in the name Supremes when he sold the company, along with the name to MCA/Boston Ventures. Berry calls Mary all the time. He invites her to EVERY Motown event and premier of "Motown the Musical". He went to bat for her and tried negotiating for her and Cindy Birdsong during RTL. You are the worst kind of liar because you have ZERO to base your bullshit on, but you will go and post it anyway. It is highly disrespectful to the forum members that you take them all to be idiots. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on! You are going to get yours if Karma truly is a bitch!

This is my favorite song from the album...just beautiful.. Thank you Diana for this magic moment! Many artists and even genres go through cycles in popularity with the general public. I would argue that if Diana released an album now, it would perform significantly better, sales-wise, than all of the albums she's released in the last 30 years. Just gaging the general public on social media, she seems to get a lot of love these days from everyone. Her Facebook page is well over one million followers. She has entered the legendary era of her career and people respect that now, more than ever, which is why she continues to do so well with her tours. It's too bad that no one is approaching her with record deals, because I would think it would be a lucrative endeavour. Artistically and musically, she still has so much to offer.

Beginning with Take Me Higher In 1995, no album of original material by Diana Ross has achieved sales certifications in the UK. Hard to believe since Workin Overtime was certified Silver ( 60,000 units ) sales. SoundScan has sales at 150,000 copies in the US.Diana Ross has been promoting this album for ten long years in her concerts. Stevie Wonders' 2005 album A Time To Love quickly sold over 500,000 copies in the US and was certified in other countries. Question. Why do Ross fans constantly promote false information about her? Is this because Berry Gordy regularly lied about her record sales?

They do it because they don't want us to know that she is a slug and could not hit the side of a barn without heavy production and songs written and tailored specifically to her weak voice. The joke is on them. Most people have not heard ANY of her recordings after "Missing You" in 1984! Radio airplay for many years was the only way the general public learned of an artist's latest release. Since Diana Ross receives NO airplay in the U.S., people never got to hear her shit after early 1985 when "Missing You" fell off the charts after struggling to reach #10!
