ps: Did you get to see any of the Diana City Center shows? I'm local, and I LOVE the theatre, but funds were low. I regret it now because word on the street was / is fantast Darling you didn't have the funds because you are a low rent bitch. You know how the show was, it is posted on youtube - the entire show. It is the same show she has been doing for the past 11 years. There was no word on the street, she played a small theatre, and after she played there a dance troupe did their finals recital in the same damn theatre. Now go dig in your cushion and find some nickles and dimes and buy some Ramen Pride noodles for dinner, dear. OMG!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though Diana Ross' show was advertised two months in advance, even with tickets discounted to $20, she still could only feel half the seats at this venue, Daily's Place. How pathetic is that?
jacksonville.com/entertainment/music/2017-06-28/concert-review-ross-delivers-hits-where-were-fans With Live Nation controlling everything these days, this is going to slam many doors for Ross. Jacksonville is a key demographic because it has a very high percentage of retirees. Usually oldies act do well in all areas of Florida because of tourism and retirees. Berry Gordy's plan was for Ross to be in the ranks of Streisand, Midler, and Cher. He never allowed her play the bill with other acts and here she is doing the Essence Festival. I personally think this woman is NUMB all the time these days.
Live Nation lost money on this and now she is a certified risk in booking.

Live Nation lost money on this and now she is a certified risk in booking. I am afraid this means a further demotion for Ross. Next stop for her is the lounge and small cabaret circuit. You are right. If she cannot sell tickets to her own demographic, it is just about over for her because there will be no more recording contracts. Live Nation is not going to risk money on anymore of her concerts.

You are right. If she cannot sell tickets to her own demographic, it is just about over for her because there will be no more recording contracts. Live Nation is not going to risk money on anymore of her concerts. I want to make this clear that the following is hearsay. I asked my friend to ask his friend who worked for J records about Ross. This is what I was told.
Clive Davis has respect for Ross and recognizes her as a legend. Unfortunately, the recognition is as a legend that doesn't sell and he is too much of a businessman to sign her. What he did was give her the break she need to re-enter the business when all doors had been slammed in her face. He included her in the next Rod Stewart songbook, and devoted his Grammy party to her. Ross was still unable to get an American recording contract. Clive played a role in her securing a one album deal with Angel EMI UK.
It was further explained to me that sometimes a label might have a lot of hype around them and generate hundreds of millions in sales but end up with actually 2-10 million in profit. This may give executives a very small budget for signing artists. Would you rather go with the next big thing that might sell millions of records or a worn out sixties girl group singer who has her best years behind her?
The results? Clive Davis was right - the album was the biggest flop of her International Career and he would have lost money.
This individual also reviewed Soulful Detroit and instantly called Bluebrock a fraud for reasons unknown to me.
I hope this helps....

I hope this helps.... What puzzles me most is couldn't someone listen to her last album before it was release and tell what a load of garbage it was? Were they too afraid to speak up because she would snap her fingers and fire them? That she would follow that up with letters to try to prevent them from ever working again? Her last album sucked big time from everything I heard. I have never listened to it and do not intend to. Diana Ross has not had a successful recording career in almost 35 years now. Today, her "concerts" are poorly attended. Why does she continue to embarrass herself this way? It's pretty much a given that she is having financial problems, but to kill what's left of her legacy like this? Some one needs to advise her to just go home and learn to live smaller...........

And what about old Moisty Walliams last album. Oh that's right the old Ho hasn't had an album since 1977 and that fiasco sold 5,000 copy. LMAO. Diana ain't broke Marv-Hector/DetroitFAG313. Old whoreish aunty mary is the one that's broke and toting cum soiled Supremes gowns to 46 paying people. aunty mary and that Dominican orange picker she married killed off what was left of The Supremes legacy and miss mary's legacy. miss mary jane wilton trashed all of her former singing partners apart from Flo and that's only because Moisty Walliams sobs over Flo in her cheap nightclub act before screaming and butchering I Am Changing to 85 customers. Now I have to give credit to the old BITCH known as mary Winston - Queen of the background clappers. You'll never find another person in history that been a background dancer as long as old slut mary winston. She got 40 years of shaking her whoreish ashy ass in the background under her nasty old garter belt. Now that must be some kind of record and now the old biddy is pimping out a tired Lena Horne show in that awful mannish voice of hers. Old lyin Ho just like Miss Marv-He for Ho, neither never had an ounce of dignity or decency.

He said there was about 5000 in the attendance.

Most performers in their seventies who have not retired and who do not perform on multi-act bills tend to book into much smaller venues: places like clubs, or halls which hold about 1,000 or 2,000. They know their fanbases are diminishing as their fans age, and they make adjustments for that in their bookings. The fans who do turn out are always enthusiastic, and the smaller venues provide greater assurance of a full house. Perhaps Diane's handlers didn't take this into consideration when booking this show.

Ross should have never been booked there because it has a capacity of 5,000. She is unable to fill 5,000 seats at this point. In the future she needs to be booked in very small theaters and intimate venues with a capacity of 1 to 2,000.

For the Essence Festival, they arrange the seating for 47,000. A reporter wrote that Diana Ross has the ability to only fill about 2,000 seats in New Orleans which is even worse than "The Return to Love" tour.
