When I first read "Dreamgirl, My Life As A Supreme" the week it was released in October, 1986. I came away with the strong impression that Diana Ross had mental issues. Thinking about it now, the book had a more mournful tone rather than scornful tone towards Ross.

She knew her behavior was narcissist and could have cared less. There is no excuse, NONE!!! Mary Wilson's book was too nice towards Ross and didn't offer anything new regarding Ross' behavior. In the end, Mary came out on top. Very popular amongst her peers and fans.

She is well regarded and loved by so many.

Mary Wilson's book sold 2 million, making it one of the best selling autobiographies of all time, a THRILLER of the publishing world. Average book sales are 5,000 to 15,000 copies. A hit book may sell on average 50,000. Very few books make the 100,000 mark. Ross has never sold 2,000,000 units of a solo record. More people wanted to hear about her shenanigans than listen to her music.
A Lifetime To Get Her, the alleged accurate detailing of Ross' career, has sold less than 1,000 units, not the 11,000 units Roberta75 claims.

Just think. The cost of a hardback book is double and sometimes triple the cost of a CD! Mary's paperback of her first book almost instantly sold 750,000 copies. It is still in print some 30 years after it's original release. The updated version released in 2000 is also still in print!

Listen you Fatherless old lying cumbucket, Poor aunty mary Snorted Up Most of the Proceeds from that book in Record Time, That's why she continues to Open for a Barely Alive Martha Reeves at The Motel 6 Lounge. The illiterate old Ho blew all that money from her lying assed book on liquor blow and feeding and bailin out those worthless lazy assed kid and is now reduced to doing Menaupase the Musical for $500 a night in a 600 seat theater in bumfuck Florida. Myrna Wilcox goes around all the time crying about Flo while wailing and screaming I Am Changing in that awful mannish voice of hers. mary NEVER mentions that she had the final vote on whether she (Flo) should be allowed to stay in the group or go....and of course, mary stabbed her "best friend and sister" in the back, and pushed the knife in as deep as she possibly could by saying "Time to go...bye bye Flo!" Oh yes, miss mary is a spineless, whoreish backstabbing, rotten old BITCH and you Marv-Hector-DetroitLIES313 are a cocksucking, cowardly old asskissing sissy.

Keep telling the same 50 year old stories about “Diane” and trust me, you’ll never get that reunion with her that you claim you want so bad. Why should she reunite with you??? You get the press you love so much rehashing 40 – 50 year old tales. Every time I read an interview with her, she’s dreamed up some new versions of the old stories. This time, she’s the one that introduced “Diane” into the group? Excuse me honey, every other party involved has said that Paul Williams, of the Primes then the Tempations, brought Diana Ross into the group. You need to go check those journals you kept. Such a wealth of material, she’s even admitted she had to under go hypnotism before writing her 1st book in order to remember things. That should tell us everything we need to know.

Mary Wilson is the one person that has the power to destroy Diana Ross. You and her fans are just pissed that she had the nerve to use it not once.......but twice!

Ross was in a decline with the public before Mary Wilson's book came out. When the news hit that Ross was going to host the American Music Award show a lot of people were furious. This was the height of her 'bad behavior' phase. Mary Wilson's book nailed the coffin, and put the silver stake through her heart. There are many acts on the oldies circuit that were once big names, but few have fallen on that circuit that were as big as Ross. She should be able to come out hiding twice a decade and do a multi-million dollar tour. Thanks to RTL, Ross has to get on the road, tour constantly with one nighters, and never makes the Billboard top 190 touring acts.

I remember that. I also remember people characterizing Mary's appearance on the "Phil Donohue Show" that Fall as "burial of Diana Ross' reputation and career" LOL! They exaggerated of course. Mary was very kind to Diana in her book. It was the public that wanted to see her totally trashed!

Of course Diana Ross does not make Billboards Top 190 Concert Tours because she is way above all of that. She ranks higher than anyone on their list in tickets sales. She just prefers to keep it a secret so as not to look like she is bragging............LOL!!!!

Thinking about it now, the book had a more mournful tone rather than scornful tone towards Ross. It appears to me, in light of a lack of solid bookings that pay a lot, that Mary Wilson's current career, such as it is, exists at Soulful Detroit and no where else..poor thing. Mary stupidly played 'Truth or Consequences' with her faux parable and RTL!!! Unfortunately Mary went for 'consequences', and, oops, it proved to be a slippery downward slope, poor dear!

Honestly it had more to do with the Bee Gees involvement more than "age" which wasnt a factor in the biz yet, that was more a later 90's thing for everyone when teen pop broke sales records. The Bee Gees were blacklisted "though" undercover, well not really. So she did pretty well with "swept Away" but when she worked with the Bee Gees on Chain Reaction, which was huge in the UK, the Bee Gees were struggling in america with getting back on radio, even though they had huge hits in the UK at the time with "You Win Again" and "Esp" Eaten Alive abum is in my top 5 favorite Diana Ross albums. The only song I didn't care for was Eaten Alive. I absolutely love every other song on this album.
One of my all time favorite Diana Ross songs is Experience.

Too bad that in the real World, "Eaten Alive" was the lead single and it sucked. People did not like it and that caused them not to buy her album the one that you love so much..........
