Martha still has the pipes. Listen to her voice soar in this clip. God bless Dr. Reeves. Whatever Dr. Bombay is prescribing is helping her voice and skin. Martha looks and sounds wonderful.
Fondly Yours,
Roberta

The album would be released to coincide with the Supreme' appearance on an ABC TV Special "Rodgers & Hart Today" to run on March 12, 1967, in which the famous duo's songs would be performed by contemporary acts, the others being Bobby Darin, Petula Clark, the Doodletown Pipers, and keeping it real, Count Basie. It was such a vanity project for Gordy that he returned to the grind of the studio to co-produce the album in L.A. with Gil Askey, Some two dozen tracks were made with the girls, enough for him to consider turning it into a double LP. The session ran through October of '66 , then most of December back in Detroit for the overdubs. For Flo, it was especially torturous. Expecting no alms from Gordy, she was pleasantly surprised when told that she and Mary would have one song each with which to emerge from the background shadows: Mary would get a co-lead on "Falling in Love" and Flor would have a duet with Diana on "Manhatta." But while Mary's made it onto the finished LP, Flo's didn't; unhappy with the track, Gordy first stripped her vocal, then junked the cut altogether with twelve others - two of them titles Flor could have related to: "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" and "You Took Advantage of Me." What remained included the likes of "Blue Moon," "Where or When," "This Can't Be Love" "My Heart Stood Still," and one more that Flo would surely regard as ideal for Diana, "The Lady Is A Tramp" ( which in fact had become a fixture of the stage act).

Diana worked POlEs to get the top I woould have sentenced her to community service I have no idea what Diana worked but it sure paid off. aunt mary worked every dick that was in front of her whoreish bobbing head and didn't get shit for it. Myrna Wilkins was the Ho of Motown and fucked everyone that walked through them Hitsville doors apart from Marvin Gaye and Berry Gordy. Berry and Marvin, like every other man has to draw the line somewhere, why sleep with someone as whoreish as mindy that couldnt keep her ashy legs closed and risk a majore dose of penicillin. poor old mary still trying to make a living murdering songs she only clapped and danced too. And now she's toting around 50 year old cum stained dresses, somebody gotta do it why not aunty mary? her solo career never went anywhere, Thats what happens when you have no talent and offer free pussy to EVERYONE.

That's it Jobeterob. Focus on the Diana Ross from 40 years ago because she hasn't given you or her other fans much to talk about since.........

Diana Ross' 5-night engagement (originally scheduled for 3 nights then lengthened due to popular demand) at the historic City Center Theater is about 95% sold. At 2,257 seats that means there will be 11,285 happy Motown / Diana fans next week!

What a blessing to still be able to sell out or nearly sell out venues and have extended engagements 58 years in the business.

The market is sadly declining, but the options have expanded from previous years. One no longer has to publish books through top publishing firms and put money into mass marketing for maximum profit. If the two of these women were ever inclined to follow through on my suggestion, they could put this together while self publishing and offer it to the diehards via the internet, as well as their shows. I'll be honest, I'd prefer the book collab more than a musical reunion.
I actually think Mary has a better chance today of being relevant without Diana. Remember in the 80s Diana Ross was a huge superstar who was "relevant" to the general public. At the time of Mary's first book, her recent activity was pissing Motown off at Motown 25, and before that she was booted out of Motown label, and before that she dropped a flop album and single, and before that she endured 4-5 B group status years with the Supremes. No matter what Mary did she was always going to dance in Diana Ross' shadow. But today Mary has accomplished so much even outside of music and she's still an in demand performer, 58 years in the business. Diana Ross will always carry some relevance to the general public because she's a legend all on her own, but her name doesn't ring out like it did in the 80s, and thus Mary doesn't twirl around in her shadow as much. If anything as long as Mary can attach her name to the Supremes she'll always be interesting.
As for what Luke had to say, I don't really understand that comment so he'd have to explain it. When I think of someone blowing someone off, I just don't know of anything that has happened in forever where I would categorize Diana's actions that way. I think at the end of the day she just don't f*** with Mary like that, and that's her right. I would just like a Supreme moment for the two of them while there's still time.
