Insiders also claimed that Naess was annoyed by his wife's spending, which reportedly included $25,000 a month on private jets and $1,000 a month on lipstick She was also spending upwards of $25,000 per month on clothing according to her former husband. Is that a dead animal she is wearing? Hopefully not an endangered species. Shameful.

Ross squandered her money in her heyday. It used to be that Ross could announce a concert tour and make big money sleepwalking through her concerts. She set box-office records in 1984 for selling out Radio City Music Hall for 11 days ( capacity 6,1000 ). The shows were horrible, though. Ross complained she gave poor performances because her mother was sick. Perhaps this was the seed of her decline as a touring act. From 1985-88 she had the successful international Eaten Alive tour. The Workin Overtime Tour in 1989 was a success, more successful than the album she was promoting. In the early 90s was the very successful Here and Now tour, promoting Force Behind The Power. Ross effortlessly played large venues and to very good ticket sales. Her record career was over in the US but she still had a few hit singles internationally, and a very large selling compilation album - One Woman - The Ultimate Collection. Ross' strength was as a live attraction.
However in 1995 the consistency of Ross as a concert attraction changed. Take Me Higher was released and hailed as her best album in 15 or 25 years, depending on the review. Despite a diverse publicity campaign that included lifetime achievement awards ( where Ross sang her latest singles ), an Oprah segment devoted to her, performing at the Superbowl Halftime, press interviews and tv performances, and numerous remixes serviced to DJs, the album failed to crack worldwide sales of 200,000. Illuminating the shift in her popularity was the fact that her Take Me Higher tour was cut short due to poor sales - a first for Ross.
The decline began. Another album released in 1998 equalled the sales standard of Take Me Higher. The next tour RTL was a disaster that Ross has never recovered from.
Ross returned in a small way. For the past 10 years she been touring non-stop, but Ross cannot play the venues she played in her prime and it appears she unfortunately has to work in her senior years as a grade C - occasional grade D oldies act. She doesn't look too happy these days. During RTL, she had to have Teleprompters positioned in front of her because she couldn't remember all the lyrics. That is a fact.

I was with Diana at the taping of the VH1 special to promote the concert and despite or perhaps in spite of the presence of Mariah, Destinys Child, Faith Hill and the lovely and much missed Donna Summer it was an experience i would not like to repeat in a hurry. The best i can say about it is that i got to know Donna Summer and i found her to be a lovely, friendly lady whom i kept in touch with until her sad passing.

This book is a fanzine that sold about 18 copies. The public didn't buy it. There is a great Ross book to be written, but it will not come out until she is dead.
CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform is his publisher not a major publisher.
it would take Supreme naivete to believe Diana is the innocent victim in every controversy which surrounds her.
HE DEFENDS DIANA SO MANY TIMES THAT IT BECAME OVERKILL.

I only know about this book from a couple of Diana Ross die-hard fans on the internet. No one will buy it (the stories in it that is....) Mary Wilson's "My Supremes" magazine sold far more copies!

RTL is really water under the bridge--everything has been said and I think the final conclusion can be that it is a shame for everybody how it worked out, no winners in this story and no use to keep blaming one or the other. I had tickets for the MPLS show, which got cancelled; that was 17 years ago and I did get over it. For me, the best thing of RTL was that Diana Ross started to include full versions of Supremes songs in her show, and when she came to the Netherlands in 2004, she performed many of them I had never heard live on stage before. Quite wonderful!

Don’t you just love all of the “Ross as a solo act” fans who want to tell you exactly what happened during the taping of “Motown 25″ between Mary and Diane……like they actually know! I am curious to know what happened between them on the night of the premier, however. This Motown Musical thing is a love fest about Berry and Diane. It has been sanitized, edited, and slanted toward Diane and Berry as innocents. Say what you want about Diane, her nastiness, her power struggle, and her willingness to sleep with the boss to get to the top; however, one word that can never be used about her is INNOCENT! She is a mean and self centered woman.

Can we please consign this story to History where it belongs? Everytime this subject is raised it quickly descends into all out war. No-one involved in this fiasco comes out of it well and i think we should all move forward and discuss something more positive.

Or else you will blow this wide open and shatter everyone's illusions once and for all, dear? LOL
