Flo Ballard was fired for her dranking, there's nobody to blame but flo, don't get me wrong I love Florence,I love all the Supremes, but Flo was dranking heavy and often, and Flo was missing shows, gaining weight and rubbing it all in Mr Gordy's face.Mary and Diana were sick of Flo and her Husband Tommy's antics as well as Mr Gordy and the decision was right to fire her, please stay positive.

That's not right cussing at me Marv2,you and me known each other a long time, and we've never cussed at each other, you know Florence was dranking and missing shows and tv spacials, and you know I work for Mr Gordy at Motown Records and knew all the real tea. Florence had a bad husband,he give her bad advice and encourage her sassiness to Mr Gordy, you can't talk to a boss that way,so it all got too much and Mr Gordy,Diana Ross, and Mary Wilson all wanted peace in the group and they got that peace with Cindy Birdsong, Cindy wasn't dranking and missing shows. Don't get me wrong I love Flo,I love all the Supremes, and I love Mr Gordy, but Mr Gordy was right to let her go,you know i'm team Gordy marv2, please stay positive.

Flo probably missed less shows than Diana who collapsed in Boston and stormed out of the Latin Casino. More Motown malarchy.

Flo probably missed less shows than Diana who collapsed in Boston and stormed out of the Latin Casino. More Motown malarchy. Ross was a psycho and so was her boss. Nothing but a A couple of narcissists. In today's world they would be sued for the way they treated Flo. If she wasn't treated like shit she would still be alive.

Not even a good dream BG. For us huge Flo fans this is an f'n nightmare. The woman can't catch a break. If a big production company were behind this it might have a chance. This sounds like some bootleg Detroit bullshit. And I have to reiterate that Hollywood biopics are rarely historically accurate. I just watched Hidden Figures the other day. Fantastic movie. But after the movie went off and I looked up additional information about it and read how different the movie was from actual events, I was reminded once again how Hollywood gets down. Why would Flo's story be any different? She has tons of rumors flying around about her. Unless a movie were going to clear all of that up, it would only serve to muddy her story. And if that's the case, what exactly is the point of a Flo Ballard biopic, to further spread controversy? I know a couple of clowns around here love that kind of thing with their sick asses, but Flo deserves better. We need to meet and talk. What is your schedule like next week? My fist gets a boner every time I read yours posts.

The world is a rough place. And don't forget, all of these people were so very young. I'll admit that I can be a bit hard on Berry Gordy because he was the head man in charge and he was- relatively speaking- considerably older than the Supremes, so in my mind I often feel like he should have known better than say certain things, do certain things, react in certain ways, etc. But in actuality Gordy was a very young man in his 30s when all of this drama was taking place. None of the Supremes were really equipped to deal with the reality that their fame became, and quite often that's attributed to their impoverished background and parents who were, more or less, not very worldly. But Gordy was in a similar boat in the sense that he was in uncharted territory for a Black man at that time. The stress on the girls was one thing, but I've never really contemplated what the stress may have been like for Berry. Now this is no excuse for what I do believe were his chauvinistic mind games that he often played with the three girls, Florence in particular. But keeping his age in mind might also explain how immature some of his antics were ("I agree with Diane, you're fat Flo"...wtf kind of school yard crap is that?). Being rational definitely wasn't in the picture. Rational would have been Gordy figuring out how to make Diana "the greatest star" without alienating Flo and Mary or attempting to diminish their roles in the group. Rational would have been Florence understanding that she had a job to do and either she do what is asked or she find something else to do with her life. So often today major stars are ridiculed for not having real world values, but I find it a little interesting that Florence is given a pass that just about everyone on this forum (who has a job) would be fired for if we went on our jobs with Flo's mentality. Compassion most certainly wasn't involved. Compassion would have been Diana taking a moment to think about someone other than herself. Her mind was hellbent on being DIANA ROSS and doing whatever to get there that she didn't take a moment to wonder- until well after she left the group- what her special treatment was doing to her friends. She knew people were being required to address her as Miss, but not Flo and Mary. She knew she was being given her own dressing room, but not Flo and Mary. She knew she was going to interviews early so she could have solo time while Flo and Mary were arriving late. Compassion would have been Diana advocating for Flo and Mary. Instead she was often indifferent or at times, if Flo's story about the charity commercial filming is accurate, she actively worked against them. The positive thing is that, again, these people were in their 20s and 30s when all of this was going on. And while over the last 20 or so years there have been some rocky moments business wise between some of them, they all seem to have left their youth in their youth and become solid seniors. Which is more than I can say for some of the posters here who actually equate Diana Ross fans to Trump fans because they won't crucify her for things that allegedly happened when she was a young woman. How much hate for a person must infect your heart to hang on to wrongs that didn't even happen to you? It. Didn't. Happen. To. You. You are not Mary Wilson. You are not Florence Ballard. Get. A. Life. Please and thank you. RanRan dearie I'd tell you to go eat a dick after reading this moronic post but I don't want to tell you how to do your job sweetie.

There are some people who have multiple (in some cases 4-6) identities that they use to fuel discontent here. You are correct that "ignore" is the best option. Well, aren’t you just a shiny little hypocrite polished in bullshit!

She needs to save it for her psychiatrist. This nut job said the people interviewed on Unsung need to quit lying and tell the truth. This is an excellent example of the sickness that impacts these kinds of people. They get so wrapped up in their fantasy world that they actually consider themselves more knowledgeable about the subject than the people who were actually there. How condescending and arrogant. I use my common sense whenever I process information, which also means I'm capable of drawing my own conclusions. But never will I ever sit in a room with Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy, Martha Reeves, Gladys Knight, Brian Holland, Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier, etc, and dare tell them that anything they have to say about their experience is null and void because, well, I "heard" things. Does this woman post in this forum? She sounds like a few screennames.

There are still a lot of folks around from Northwestern High School and Northeastern High School as well that knew Flo and the girls. I would think after all these years if you are going to tell Flo's story that you would want to get it right from people who actually knew her.

No better source than folks who have personal stories as opposed to second and third hand rumors.
