Ross could not mount this type of tour on her own name anymore, her career was heading towards nowhere at the time. Still she believed her maniacal fans and followed her ego and believed she could do it without the original Supremes. The actuality is many solo acts have tours on this level all the time without relying on a reunion or any other sort of gimmick. Yes, Ross has rebounded in a very small way by performing her songs on the oldies circuit and an occasional theatre in key venues, but she has never recovered from this failure.
I Still Cannot Believe This Picture! Is it possible to look worse than this?

Diana Ross never had enough "magic" to make the Supremes....Supreme! It took Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson to do that!

Diana Ross never had enough "magic" to make the Supremes....Supreme! It took Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson to do that! There is a magic in a united front that can never be duplicated when the members go solo. Simon and Garfunkel never achieved the success as solo members that they did as a group, yet Paul Simon was singing lead on many of the songs. The problem is that when a manager or a CEO is sleeping with an artist is that their judgment is impaired. There are dizzy queens or dizzy lesbians ( shout out to Roberta75) at Soulful Detroit that believe that Ross has been a solo act since 1964.
Ross would never achieve the success of the Supremes as a solo act, a fact that would be readily apparent to anyone with an objective opinion. Berry Gordy spent the next decade focusing all of his energy in making Ross the biggest female act in the industry, to the neglect of the record company and many deserving artists. When Ross left, Motown was bankrupt and Ross had a very hit or miss recording career as a tally. Fast forward to the present and this woman is just an oldies act touring for a living on a non-existent budget.

If Berry is responsible for 85% of Diana's career, then Berry and Diana are responsible for all of Mary's. Because outside of them, she has had ZERO success. Mary Wilson is pathetic.

Wow! Some fan you must be posting one of Diane's biggest failures! What are Lee When Lee Daniels was after Diane for what would have been one of her greatest successes, guest appearing on Empire you were real upset and had the following to say. LOLOLOLOLOLOL. 09-25- I have never seen Black-ish, but I did watch most of Empire last season. The first episode of season 2 was nothing but filth! If they keep going in the current direction, that show is not going last much further. It takes promoting do whatever it takes to achieve power and money at all costs to another level. Totally disgusting.
It is ironic that 25-30 years ago The Bill Cosby Show depicted the model, modern black family. Professional parents with essentially good kids. Fast forward to 2015 and we have a show about a black family where both parents have been in prison, involved in drugs, lies , deceit, murder! The kids are totally dysfunctional. All types of deviant activity is depicted and this show has the highest ratings?

Calling you an idiot would be an insult to all stupid people First of all, what is Roberta Man talking about? Back to the subject of this thread. Diana Ross evidently no longer has anyone that cares about her professionally. If she did, some one should have been able to get it through her thick head that going on tour with Shari Payne and Lynda Laurence instead of Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong would be professionally suicide! I believe some one say like that assshole from KISS Gene Simmons told her that no one else matter but her when it came to the Supremes. I wonder if she still listens to that racist idiot? Everyone knows that without Mary Wilson, you cannot have a group called The Supremes. Now Diane is just another lowly touring Oldies Act with a bare minimum stage show and budget.

If you watch 20/20 you will see that Mary Wilson came off very bad. She looked crazy at one point. She seemed so bitter. She came across as someone still jealous of the lead singer of her group-damn near 40 years after the fact. Diana remained professional and at times confused by all of this. She stood her ground and took the higher road. I find it odd that Diana Ross has been at the receiving end of viscious rumors and inuendo for many years. The ONE time she tried to defend her name, she gets called out on it. That makes no sense at all. She spoke up, and some Supreme and Mary Wilson fans couldn't take it. Cause we all know that its not that Mary knows so much dirt on people (Diana), it's that DIANA knows the dirt also and came very close to spilling it all. Just that one little tidbit about "Mary seems to have forgotten that I've helped her..." let you know right there that IF she wanted to get real about and put Mary on blast that she could have. She hinted at it- but remained classy about it. I don't think Diana did anything (during that interview) but defend herself. She didn't come across as catty. The public wasn't aware at the time that Mary not being on this tour was MARY'S fault. Knowing their history, I can totally see why it was up to each lady to do her own bidding. Everyone keeps saying fair is fair and that it should have been divided equally. Thats bull crap. They were not being paid a "salary" by Berry Gordy, or Motown. This is the real world. Mary was playing with the big boys and failed. That is her fault that she coudn't negotiate and agree to terms that would have made her happy. Diana wasn't receiving, as we all know, a lump sum of money to do this tour. She was going to get percentages. That is the contract SHE negotiated. Mary should have tried to do the same thing. No matter how some will try to spin this, it was up to Mary and Cindy as grown professional women to negotiate and try to get what they wanted. It turns out that that what they really wanted was DIANA to do something for them. NOT. In the end many supreme fans feel Diana should have done this and should have done that. I say forget that. She doesn't need to take care of Mary and Cindy's business. Back to that interview. I was so glad Diana finally spoke her mind. She remained classy, while Mary still looked like someone who doesn't have a clue. I am confident that Mary still regrets turning down that $4 million dollars.

The worst album in HISTORY. Poor old whoreisj Mimette Wilkins. The failure of this sent aunt mary back to sloppy blowjobs for BLOW. 6,000 copies were sold WORLDWIDE and the other 4,000 burned. LMAO

This tour sucked. The performances were terrible. The performers sucked which is why it got cancelled. They needed Mary Wilson to save it.
