For some reason Diana never loved BIM as much as we the fans did. She did not get along with Richard Perry, but Gordy loved the results and hired Perry to do the follow up album even before BIM was released. A few demos were laid down but some of the songs were later given to Syreeta so i believe. She did love The Boss. She always got along with Nick and Val in the studio and Val had nothing but nice things to say about Diana when i met her a few years ago. Although the album did go gold everyone was expecting it to go platinum such was the strength of the songs, production values and vocals, not to mention that stunning album cover. We know you want to build up and praise Diane, but we would rather you tell the truth dear.

Quincy Jones was originally slated to produce the rca debut. He had agreed to do it but he was delayed producing Patti Austin's Every home should have one. Rca wanted an album promptly to capitalise on the Chic album. Diana demanded to produce the album, and several of the songs slated for the Quincy Jones project were given to Donna Summer which Quincy produced on her. Lionel was not available to do a full album on Diana but a couple of demos exist and another Richie production was recorded for, but not included on the Swept Away project. Luther literally begged Diana to let him produce a full album on her. She was impressed with his work with Aretha, but less so for Dionne. Luther held out for a full album but finally relented and did It's hard for me to say for the Red Hot album. Michael Jackson wanted to produce a full album on Diana, but after the success of WDFFIL she wanted to produce the album herself again. Michael submitted several demos , a few of which i have heard and they were awesome. He later produced one of these tunes "your the one" on Jennifer Holliday much to Diana's disdain. The Bee Gees wanted to work with Diana a few years before they actually did. Barry Gibb originally envisaged Islands in the stream as a duet between him and Diana, but she did not like the song and rejected it along with several other demos, so he gave it to Kenny and Dolly. Some of those demos ended up on Kenny's album. Diana finally realised her mistake and the Gibb brothers came on board for Eaten Alive. Phew!! Those are some of the facts. Make of them what you will Bluebrock dear, let me share what my Momma told me as a young'un, It might help you dear: Telling the truth and making someone cry is better than telling a lie and making someone smile.

He writes as if Diane is sitting there next to him telling he what she was thinking and what to post on these forums. I do not believe him when he says that Valerie Simpson had nothing but nice things to say about Diana Ross. I cannot believe that at all!

I remember an interview where Ashford sang her praises about having a satiny, silky voice. Valerie quickly let the interviewer know that those were HIS opinions about Diana and not hers. Valerie would not speak on working with her, which let me know there was tension there.

Diana didn't attend Ashford's funeral, which I thought was really tacky. I guess she didn't want to turn it into a spectacle. LOL

Valerie Simpson and Nick Ashford were human and Diana Ross has never gotten along with a "human record producer" ever! I don't know if it were Valerie that let it get out that on the record "The Boss", it was she that was singing the really high notes all through the song because Diana just did not have what it took to reach them! People have speculated for years if it were Val singing some or all of Tammi Terrell's parts on the last few albums with Marvin Gaye. Val would either decline to answer or give some convoluted response. No one has thought to ask her about Diana Ross' "The Boss".

First he said he was being offered big money to tell his story, now he calls it a proposed project. I did my homework and found out that it is true that Chic were slated to produce Diana Ross' first album on RCA and that this is also what RCA wanted. Contract negotiations broke down because Diana Ross demanded COMPLETE creative control in the studio and for the final mixes. Chic would not agree to those terms and moved on. I also found out that From March to December 1981 Quincy Jones was in the studio recording Thriller. If Quincy Jones was going to produce Diana's first album it would have been in the beginning of 1981, but that couldn't be because Diana was in contract negotiations with Chic at that time. I am not going to research anything else because one lie is enough, one robbery is enough, one deliberate deception is one enough. Diana Ross did not tell him that, I do not believe that. I believe he made it up because he is a very sick fan who loves Diana Ross and wants to believe that Miss Ross was more important than Michael Jackson on his schedule. Soulful Detroit, just this scenario, has become a modern day Sunset Boulevard. Whew..... these are the facts!

On May 12, 1981 Ross entered into the recording contract with RCA. At this time Patti Austin's Every Home Should Have One was completed, it was recorded during two weeks of March 1981. From late March to early 1982, Michael Jackson was recording Thriller with Quincy Jones. This was scheduled in advance. Quincy was never able to produce any albums during this time, nor was it up for consideration.
Bluebrock told an outright lie. 100% with no shades of gray.

No one believes him except the demented Robert/Roberta and a handful of Diana Ross little girl zombies that post on here. He probably have never even spoke to Diane about any of this. I knew he was not offered any big money just knowing what the subject matter is. No one is paying big bucks for ANOTHER story on tired ass Diana Ross! First you would have to explain to a large segment of the public who she was and then try to generate some interest in another segment about Diana Ross when everyone already knows her story and about what she is really like.

Bluebrock claimed that the demos that Quincy Jones made for the aborted album that was to be Ross' debut on RCA were used for Donna Summer's 1982 album.
I researched the copyright registration for all of the songs on the album. All of the songs were registered in 1982 except State of Independence which was registered in 1981. The song was written by Vangelis and was on his 1981 solo album.
If the demos were for Ross' 1981 RCA debut album, how come all of the songs were written in 1982. Never in the history of the music industry have demos been made for a song that is not copyrighted.
Bluebrock do you have dementia? Mental illness? I am not joking here, I am dead serious. And what does this say for the sycophants that constantly praise him for his efforts to the SD forum?

Ross did not sign to RCA until May of 1981. At that exact time Quincy was producing the best selling album of all time. At the time Ross released Why Do Fools Fall in Love he was still recording Thriller. This time to record Thriller was set aside by both Quincy and Michael. Quincy was not held up by anything. Of all the lies Bluebrock has told this is the most outrageous. There is not an ounce of truth to it. What is worse, is he pretends this is first hand information from Ross. What a fraud!

How could he have been slated to record Diana Ross' debut album when he was recording Thriller at the time she signed the contract to RCA?
Come on now, you are not even trying anymore!
