Well, hardly I can name some universal gifts there. Still, make sure the presents are beautiful and well packaged. Remember that unwrapping a present is one of the most important parts of any holiday. This process draws dementia patients’ attention to the fact that this day means something special both for them and their families. Sock with the grips on the bottom to prevent slips and falls. Night gowns, pajama pants, comfy clothes that are easy to get in and out of. Throw blankets (no electric blankets because they cannot always remove them if they get too hot). Old family photos because many times their long term memory is really intact up until advanced stages. Maybe arrange in a photo album with labels of who is who in the photos. Be careful about bringing food/candy. You may not know of certain dietary restrictions or swallow precautions they are under. Even assisting a patient with drinking water can be dangerous so always ask the staff about any restrictions. DO NOT trust the patient to know.

A unique birthday card is a way of expressing your emotions. It's a means of expressing your concern for the individual who will receive all birthday cards. What other present can you offer someone that tells them when to celebrate their birthday?

Boomf has designer quality cards, made by people who care. It's my first choice when it comes to sending a card boomf.com/collections/funny-christmas-cards-for-grandson - one of those lovely moments where you can imagine the smiles that face will beam when they open it up and see your card.
