Stoned Love most definitely has the Andantes (or some session singers) on the song but it sounds very Andante-ish to me. Now don't get me wrong Cindy and Mary are also definitely on the song but it's not just the two of them alone on several parts of the song. Everybody's Got the Right to Love sounds like Mary, Cindy and Jean in the background to me. Up the Ladder sounds like the three of them along with session singers beefing it up even more. I read that Touch includes the Blackberries but I only hear their vocals towards the end of the song. The whole Floy Joy album contains the Andantes singing background with Mary, Cindy and Jean

They were back in Detroit waiting around to backup on some other recording while the Supremes recorded all the vocals for that record in New York City. The Andantes weren't even added later. So you are hearing voices in your head LOL!

Its usually pretty clear which singers are doing what, so I think that might work in their favor in regards to being distinctive. IMO the Supremes with Flo, and the Andantes had a similar sound, although the Andantes sound to my ears more technically polished. But I think that's why there's some controversy on certain songs. Well that and the fact that some folks like to make a controversy in order to feed the narrative that Diana Ross was the Supremes and Flo and Mary weren't actually needed. Anything to start to some shit, is apparently the motto of some folks.
