Ever wonder why Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson or Lionel Richie have never produced an album for Diana Ross? Could it be because they like to make money and they knew that they wouldn't make much producing a Diana Ross album? Just putting it out there........ Baby It's Me from 1977 is considered by Ross fans as one of her finest moments. It never went beyond the 200,000 range in sales. Any hardcore Ross fan would have that album, so that lets you know her audience base. Then she really never was that big of a deal when it came to selling record? You how the industry use to hype the heck out of a new release by a so called "Mega-Artist" like a release by that person would save the industry. Now that I think about it, none of Diana Ross' solo releases were ever lauded and praised by the industry overall. Darn! Her record sells must have been really "puffed up" by Berry Gordy and Motown. That's how she got those TV Specials I bet. I've heard her fans repeatedly claim that she is worth $250 million. There is no way in Hell!

Oh well.

You complain about Trump but you are a lot like him. There are many controversies and scandals surrounding Ross that are rooted in truth, however you do everything in your power to prevent anything but praise for her being posted in SD. What you do is censor speech you disagree with. How many people have you accused of being Tony Turner when that man died of AIDS related complications years ago, The 64 or so books on the market about Ross in your world are all tabloid trash and the only credible book is her vapid and shallow Secrets of A Sparrow. That is like saying the only meritorious book about Trump is his Art of the Deal. When cornered you spout your religious trash. I think abusing religion is a low as you can get, and makes you no better than the religious right. If you care about the planet being ruined start working on yourself - don't worry about Trump.
If he thinks "Secrets of A Sparrow" was credible, then he needs to see a doctor immediately. That book was the absolute worst! Are you serious? If you don't like Diana, why do you bother to comment? Why do you even care? Why do you keep coming to Diana's threads to spread your negativity and hatred? Are you obsessed with her, is that it? This obsessive and pathological love/hate relationship that some US Supremes fans have with Diana Ross should be a subject of mental health studies. Creepy. Creepy. It's a shame that in a forum of such high quality, we are forced to deal with this kind of unhealthy behavior. I really can't stand it. Pure omission of the moderators.

No one in America heard the song which sounds like it belongs some where in the late 60s or very early 70s. I am not surprised that it did not sell in the United States. People hate her music here. They still love ALL the Supremes music, but Diana Ross? No way!
Diana really needs to stop with the birds nest weavesDiana Ross has sensual elongated feet that take my breath away. Fondly Yours, Roberta

The song was released in 1988, as the theme to Steven Spielberg's Land Before Time. It sold 0 copies in the US. There were some complaints that it was not on Workin Overtime, further confusing fans about her music and image direction.
Ross fans say she continued to sell well overseas when her music career tanked in the US. Isn't it interesting that a UK label wouldn't sign her for a long term contract when Motown dropped her. very boring showmanship in the last 20 years. Hiding face on way to Pet Smart groomer for hair care?

I think it's creepy that Ross fans are incapable of acknowledging any of Ross' cruel behavior to others...not one word ever have I seen. They might even be listened to if they could ever acknowledge it, but they can't. That's creepy!! In that odious tome about sparrows she blames everything on the other Supremes. That's really creepy! Her excuse to Gladys Knight for getting Gladys and Pips thrown off their tour was " we were young!"lolol what's Diana's excuse now? And what was her excuse at the Motown musical opening?? I hope Mary does a part 3 and puts that in and all the really bad stuff Mary never printed!! If people only knew...

That is a good question. Why hasn't a UK Label signed Diane to a contract. Bluecock any answers? LOL!!!!! EMI which distributed her Motown and RCA recordings in Europe in the 80s and 90s, would only sign her to one off deal with I Love You. The label states they have no intention of releasing another album of new material by her. The album did not sell over the 100,000 range despite her new hit "More Today Than Yesterday" which she has been promoting for 11 years! Here is a gem from that album:
