That was pretty awful and so is this:
Why would anyone record garbage like this? This is worse than anything any Supreme has ever recorded! No wonder she can't get a recording contract.

I am really disgusted how the Little Girls of SD spread lies about Diana Ross, claiming that all of the heavyweights in the industry want to work with her but Miss Ross turns them down. This is not true at all. I read Bluebrock's post and shook my head in shame. How can you complain about people spreading lies about her in books and interviews and you are doing the same thing? Wrong is wrong and two wrongs don't make a right.
If you cared about her you wouldn't say those things because it may seem that Ross is the source of the rumors, trying to spark some life in a dead career.
This is what I was TOLD by a friend:
Diana Ross' recording for RCAs and the final Motown years lost money. EMI Angel signed her for a one off deal. If the album did well they would record another. She was given a very limited budget. To finish the album she had to use some generic, transcription style tracks giving the album a karaoke feel. There was no money left for photo sessions so she used photos from her 1987 album on the cover. The album flopped.
Diana Ross approached Clive Davis to do an album of standards. He had concerns about her having competing product, the Blue album was on the market. Clive Davis believed that she had peaked decades ago and would not sign her. How he comes to the conclusion about who has peaked and who is poised for a comeback is beyond me. However, he showcased her at the Grammy party, attended by all the industry heavyweights. However, no one signed her.

He has worked with many celebrities and several publishers are offering him a lot of money to tell his story. May God forgive you for this evil post.

I don't care for Clive Davis, but he is a smart man. He had Aretha, Dionne Warwick and Whitney Houston, why would he need someone like Diana Ross? He is an industry insider and knows that it was Berry Gordy that was responsible wholly for the "magic" behind Diana Ross. He was not about to baby sitter and pay millions of dollars just to produce her. Those other women practically produced themselves! Bluecocks is not a player in the industry. He did not even work with anyone in the United States and there will be no book!

The only time Diana Ross made a profit for a label was during the Supreme years. It costs money to pay off radio programmers and disc jockeys to get a number one record. There are too many people who hate this woman for her to have a hit record again. I wouldn't record her.

Hate is a strong word, but in this case it certainly applies. LOL!!!

That was in 1976. 2 number ones, god knows how much was spent on that expensive ad campaign and that album sold only 700,000 or so copies.

This why Mr. Gordy said that he never broke even on Diana Ross records. He probably made more money off the Supremes in those first two years after Diana Ross left the group than in the entire 10 years of Diana Ross Motown solo career from 1970-80. He was stunned when she left Motown because he invested heavily in her career and ignore the careers of other, more talented people at Motown. Although, he will never admit it. Berry Gordy being a gambler ,a risk taker gambled on Miss Ross and lost!

I mean how is it that you- someone who obviously has a disdain for the woman- somehow lucks up in being the one that gets to hear all these Diana Ross stories? What was it about you that supposedly had all these people coming up to you to give you the inside dirt? Is it possible that you just have that kind of luck? I almost want to believe you when you tell these stories because the alternative is so much more frightening. LOL

Diana Ross was wholly unpopular with Motown people. All you have to do is say "what was Diana Ross like?" and the flood gates will swing open. LOL! You have to sometimes stop some of these people or they will go on and on and on.......
